It is not the season of watermelon in India but still you can get a refreshing watermelon easily by making a watermelon cake. I love baking,sometimes I want to make it more fun just to keep away my 7 years old daughter from cartoon.She also love baking,helps me a lot while baking a cake.I bought some pink chocolate, to use this chocolate, I also found that making watermelon shaped cake would be best idea.
To make watermelon shaped cake,you only need one layer of cake, which you then cut half to make the watermelon shape.
Preparation Time - 10 Minutes
Cooking Time - 40 Minutes

INGREDIENTS OF THE MAKING OF CAKE
unsalted butter-1tbsp (for grease the cake pan)
cake flour-1 1/2 cup (not self-rising)
Vegetable oil -1/2cup
large eggs-2(Vegeterian people can use 3tbsp Yougurt mixed with 3/4cup water)
red food coloring-few drops
vanilla essence -1tsp
Milk-3/4cup (room tempreture)
Baking soda-1/2 tsp
Chocochips -1/2 cup(mix with 2 tbsp flour)+2 tsp
METHOD OF MAKING CAKE
Heat oven to 350 degrees F or 180 degree C
Grease butter 9 inch round cake pans.
Sprinkle with flour, and tap out the excess; set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk cake flour, baking powder and baking soda and chocochips mix flour.. ....set aside.
In the bowl combine the sugar and oil, and beat until well combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add vanilla and milk and beat until well combined. Add flour mixture slowly scraping the sides of the bowl with a spatula as needed.
pour the Batter into the pan. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
Remove from oven and let cool for 30 minutes before decorate the cake with Frosting..
INGREDIENTS FOR GREEN COLOURED BUTTER FROSTING
Icing sugar -4 Cups
Vanilla essence -1tsp
Green colour -few drop
METHOD OF FROSTING
Cream butter until smooth
Add icing sugar and beat until light and fluffy
.and then mix red colour
Spread this frosting i outer side of the cake.....spread it evenly with butter knife..Create a smoother layer of icing by dipping the knife into warm water.

INGREDIENTS OF MAKING CHOCOLATE GANACHE
pink chocolate-9 ounces,
heavy cream -1 cup
METHOD OF MAKING CHOCOLATE GANACHE
Place the chocolate into a medium bowl. Heat the cream in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Bring just to a boil, watching very carefully because if it boils for a few seconds, it will boil out of the pot. When the cream has come to a boil, pour over the chopped chocolate, and whisk until smooth.
Allow the ganache to cool ...keep it in fridge covered with aluminium foil... For a fluffy frosting or chocolate filling, allow it to cool until thick, then whip with a whisk until light and fluffy...then put it with butter knife or spatula on the cake . Sprinkle some chocco chips to simulate the seeds.
if you do not have pink chocolate..you can use white chocolate mixed with few drops of pink colour.
